"Blues For Katrina" is pleased to be able to provide a free, professional, high-quality logo for Blues Societies throughout the world thanks to graphic artists that have volunteered their services through VolunteerMatch.

"Blues For Katrina" will provide Blues Societies with these logos at no cost to an e-mail address that they provide to us, if the following conditions are met.

1. Your Blues Society agrees to allow "Blues For Katrina" to use the logo that we design for your Blues Society on T-Shirts and other merchandise for sale in our store with all proceeds benefiting The Tipitina's Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana. The T-shirt may include the "Blues For Katrina" logo, The Tipitina's Foundation logo or both.

2. Your Blues Society will be active in promoting the sales of these shirts by encouraging traffic to the "Blues For Katrina" web site through links on their web site, in newsletters, at Society meetings, benefits and events.

3. You agree to allow the "Blues For Katrina" web site to post links and contact information about your Blues Society.

4. You agree to and sign a release form, releasing "Blues For Katrina" and its volunteers, partners or sponsors from any legal action if your Blues Society logo is to contain images that are copyrighted and/or to which your Blues Society is required to pay a fee. (An example would be the logo of The Houston Blues Society which contains an image of "Lightnin' Hopkins". The Houston Blues Society is required to license this image). We will include copyrighted images in the logo that we design for you ONLY if you provide proof that your Blues Society has paid licensing fees for these images and that your licensing fees are still in good standing.

Your Blues Society is free to use the logo that we design for you in any way that you wish. No obligations apply other than those stated above. If your Blues Society is currently involved with another charity, you are free to print shirts in support of that charity on your own and sell them.

If your Blues Society already has a logo they would like to have placed on a T-Shirt in support of our efforts, we are happy to do so providing you agree to the terms listed above. Please e-mail us for information regarding proper formats and resolutions required to print your image.

A professionally designed logo can run upwards of $350.00 and many Blues Societies simply don't have the funds to afford such an expenditure although a well-designed, eye-catching logo goes a long way towards getting people interested in your organization.

"Blues For Katrina" feels that it can make a difference in the lives of musicians displaced by Hurricane Katrina while benefiting the music community exponentially in this manner. Blues Societies get a free logo that they otherwise might not be able to afford and by lending that logo to us for sale on merchandise, they are helping to support The Tipitina's Foundation which raises awareness of public music education and provides material support for school music programs, offers internships designed to improve artist's skills in performing, recording, and producing and provides a fully-equipped work space for musicians and other digital media professionals who can’t afford, or don’t otherwise have access to computers and software that allow them to promote and pursue their careers with greater success and efficiency.
